Event description
Demo event for website review — this is an example listing, not a confirmed event.
Join the CALM project for a guided riverside walk exploring the connections between healthy waterways, local wildlife and the communities that care for them.
This relaxed session will introduce the idea of a river catchment and show how activities across the surrounding landscape can affect the water flowing through it. Along the route, we will look at riverside habitats, discuss everyday pressures on our waterways and explore practical ways to support their protection and restoration.
A short demonstration will explain how water samples and observations help build a picture of river health. There will also be time to ask questions, share local knowledge and learn how community involvement can support the aims of the CALM project.
The session is intended for local residents, community groups and anyone curious about their local river. No previous knowledge of water quality or conservation is needed.
Please bring weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear. The meeting point, route accessibility and booking arrangements would be confirmed before a real event is published.
