The River Lagan starts as a small stream on Slieve Croob and makes its winding way to Belfast.  As one of the project’s catchments, the Lagan faces the familiar challenge of excess nutrient loading, which drives water pollution, habitat breakdown and biodiversity loss.

ABC Council leads the restoration here through three focus areas: working with landowners on nutrient management to cut sediment and nutrient losses; nature recovery to rebuild healthy habitats for fish and water quality.
