Ulster University’s School of Geography and Environmental Sciences leads the water quality science behind CALM. Based at the Coleraine campus, the team runs a two-year water chemistry monitoring campaign on the Ballymartrim River, auditing water quality before, during and after catchment interventions.

Their monitoring focuses on phosphorus and suspended sediment, building the evidence base that shows whether the work on the ground is making a measurable difference.
